Since there is no graphical interface to enter the product key or activate a copy of the Windows Server 2008 Server Core, there are two simple commands to get the job done.

Change Service Console IP Address
For the most part working with networking in a VMware Infrastructure environment can be easily done through the Virtual Infrastructure Client. However, sometimes the need arises to change the IP address of the Service Console. While you can go the route of creating a new Service Console port and removing the old one, I find it easier to change the IP details on the original Service Console port from the actual server console.
Free Online Meetings
Tools like WebEx and GoToMeeting are great for having groups of people collaborate and have become essential for technical support in their diagnosis and resolution steps. The problem with most of the commercial offerings is that they either lure you in with expensive contracts or they are pay-per-use. Well now there is a new player on the block: Dimdim.
Reset Trend Micro OfficeScan Password
This procedure comes in handy if you have forgotten the unlock/uninstall password for your installation of Trend Micro OfficeScan. I have also had to use similar procedures for migration projects where it was desired to have a different AntiVirus installation upon migration.
Exchange System Manager on Vista
Microsoft has recently released version of the Exchange System Manager for Windows Vista. This is the Exchange 2003 version of ESM so for all of those Exchange administrators out there, you can now sit back and administer your routing groups and send connectors right from your Windows Aero enabled desktop!
The Exchange Autodiscover Song
The witty Microsoft Exchange team has released their first single and its all about the new Autodiscover feature found in Exchange Server 2007. You can view the lyrics and grab a copy of the song in WMA format over at the Microsoft Exchange Team Blog.
Outlook 2007 Deployment
For some unknown reason, Microsoft removed the ability to apply transform files to the Office 2007 suite when installing via MSI. On the flip side they made it much easier to deploy patches in MSP format to Office 2007 when installing via the traditional setup.exe. Give and take I suppose. Why is this a problem? Well if you want to deploy any or all of the Office 2007 suite via Active Directory Group Policy you will need to get a little creative.
E-mail Address Policy Based on Country
There are a ton of things that the Exchange team did to improve manageability in Exchange Server 2007. This is evident in the number of new rule based wizards that appear throughout the Exchange Management Console. However there are still quite a few things that an administrator needs to handle via the trusty Exchange Management Shell. One of those is the creation of custom E-mail address policies.
Edge Transport Server Synchronization
For the most part the Edge Transport role of Exchange 2007 requires little configuration. However one of the major configuration items is the Edge Subscription between the Edge server and the Hub Transport server(s).
Transfer FSMO Roles
I can never seem to remember the exact syntax on how to transfer the Active Directory FSMO roles and I seem to spend quite a bit of time looking up the commands. So I thought I would write up a quick article on how to transfer those ‘pesky’ FSMO roles.
